Diana's Art Room

I am a passionate and dedicated educator with over 25 years of experience teaching at the elementary and middle school levels. I hold a Master’s degree in Sociology, a Diploma in Drawing and Painting, and a Diploma in Ceramics. My journey as an educator began at the American International School in Chennai when I was just 23 years old—and I’ve never looked back since.

Currently, I teach at KIDS Central High Cambridge International School and Redwood Montessori School, where I have thoughtfully designed Visual Arts curricula tailored to align with each school’s unique vision and mission. My work is driven by a deep belief in the power of Art to connect communities, inspire change, and unlock creative potential in every child.

For the past nine years, I’ve collaborated closely with teachers in Bihar, advocating for the importance of Arts education in schools and showcasing how creative problem-solving can bring about positive change in families and communities. I also run a weekend art program that creates inclusive spaces for children from diverse backgrounds to engage with Art beyond the classroom.

I am proud to serve on the Executive Committee of the Indian Art and Design Educators Association, where I lead workshops focused on developing holistic Art curricula and integrating the Arts across subject areas at a national level.

My work has been recognized with accolades such as the runner-up award in the category of ‘Art Teaching Techniques’ at the 2018 Art Teacher Excellence Awards and the winner in the ‘Art for Social Change’ category in 2019.

As an Art educator, I strive to create non-judgmental, imaginative environments where children are free to converse, explore, express, experiment, and re-create—without inhibition. In my classroom, every child is encouraged to find their voice and embrace the joy of artistic discovery.
